A beginners guide to meditation

I find the most effective meditation technique is to sit in a quiet room on the floor with my legs crossed. I put my hands in front of me with my palms up. I place my tongue on the roof of my mouth about an inch from my teeth. This is important because it creates a pathway from the mind to the heart.

The next part is very important. Don’t close your eyes. Instead choose a point in front of you and look at it. Don’t focus on it, but look at it and beyond it. As you do this breathe through your nose with your diaphragm. Relax and listen to your breathing.

As you do this your vision will slowly go gray and eventually black and turn off. Don’t try to focus. You don’t need your eyes to see.

Another thing you should remember is that you don’t have to have a completely clear mind. If thoughts come to you they came to you for a reason, analyze it, and it will pass.

As you continue to relax and go into even deeper mediation eventually your ears will do the same thing.

The Disfunction in the mind that echoes to the world.

My friend wrote this and I thought I’d share the inspiration with everyone.

Within your mind lies an incredible labyrinth of thought structures and pathways that are physical in space. Thought modulations or thought waves are physical waves, measurable, and capable of interacting with all things. Within this labyrinth lies two distinct yet connected areas of your consciousness. First and most deceptive is your ego (your thoughts and sense of temporal self).  This area is what governs and controls your emotions and actions for the most part during your day. If the events in the day are positive or negative you feel the result of those emotions caused and act based on them. These are constantly changing and are not your true self.

The Second area is your awareness the aspect that is aware that you are touching objects and aware that you are sitting in a chair or feeling the ground and gravity while standing.  That is the unchanging observer within you. Within your self is a connection to the source of all things. To truly create freely and to truly experience when we are born we are made unaware of the connection, that has always been there. This disconnection creates the false self and also some very interesting other side effects.

Here is one example to one aspect of a possible side effect of being disconnected. Within the realm of conversation between people there is an obvious disconnection just in that they both have their own consciousness and they can not read each others minds. So when one is speaking, at the same time, they are also thinking about what to say next, and also judging the other persons face to see if they are paying attention, understand, and care about what we are saying. If there is a body language trigger that we thought was negative we go into this thought space of doubt and fear about ourselves or the other person. These spaces are where we end up spending most of our time. They keep us trapped from the now and into some thought tornado of boosting or attacking ones own image of self or another.

This disconnection we have from the source echos into all octaves of life and society and is the major dysfunction we have in the world. All of our structure is based off of these disconnections and gaps of understanding. When we have a lack of information we make poor decisions based on no understanding. The spaces of disconnection are not permanent and can be filled with understanding and love. Meditation, Yoga, Fasting, and giving love and gratitude freely and openly to all will guide you.

Don’t let yourself be a slave to your thought spaces and the result of the emotions caused by those times you do. Be in the now, meditate and be free from suffering and pain. Think of love often and feel it in your being as much as you can. When “negative” pressures happen analyze them and let them be tools for you to be stronger and more compassionate. All is created from pressures and heat so don’t let pressure create a new space for your thoughts to be trapped in. Let that pressure create something beautiful in you and let that shine!

If you know that “I”, in the sense of the person, the front, the ego, it really doesn’t exist. Then…it won’t go to your head too badly, if you wake up and discover that you’re God.

What are tips for the a complete beginner who wants to learn how to meditate?

Sit with your legs crossed, arms in front of you, hands on your lap. Place your tongue at the roof of your mouth just behind your front teeth at the part right before it does upward.

Find a point to stare at and breathe deeply and slowly through your nose. Leave your eyes open but sorta look beyond the point you’re looking at. Keep listening to yourself breathe and slowing your vision will turn grey. Don’t try to focus or you’ll pull yourself out. Slowly your vision will go black, eventually your hearing as well will fade.

Don’t try to force yourself to have a clear mind, if thoughts come to you they came for a reason, analyze them and they will pass.

You are constantly rebuilding yourself at the cellular level. Your body produces 1 billion new cells every hour. No matter how old you are, most of you is no older than 10 years old.

If we could figure out a way to accelerate that we could live forever.
